The Number 22

Four days later on November 16 at 9:13 p.m., God brought Auschwitz to mind for a 51st time, and I was led to February 7, 2024 as the date to visit it – 2 months and 22 days away. This was the second visit to Auschwitz on this trip, falling exactly one Hebrew month (or approximately one lunar month) since the first (28 Tevet – 28 Shevat, 5784 / January 9 – February 7, 2024).

Continuing the theme of the number 22 in this story, this latest visit to Auschwitz was inspired precisely 22 days since my last proposed visit on October 25, 2023 – the 50th anniversary of the end of the Yom Kippur War.

Two days later on November 18, I decided to create a new chapter for this story, and ironically, it was chapter 22! Furthermore, this was the 22nd trip that God had inspired! To me, this shows an overarching design and plan that God had for this book long before I knew what was going on. He knew where the story was going, and how it would fit into this book long before I did.

What is the significance of the number 22? There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, the Aleph-bet. Jesus also quoted Psalm 22 on the Cross; “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” – Psalm 22:1. There are also 22 chapters in the book of Revelation – the final book of the Christian bible.
