Israel & Hamas

In light of today’s attack on Israel by Hamas, I made an interesting discovery about a trip to Israel and Auschwitz that God inspired in early 2021. I was due to visit Auschwitz on October 25, 2023 (10 Cheshvan – the day God told Noah to enter the Ark according to Jewish tradition), exactly 7 weeks to the day after leaving Jerusalem on September 6, 2023:

“It wasn’t until October 7, 2023 – nearly three years after this trip was inspired, that I made an interesting discovery. The day I was led to visit Auschwitz on, marked the 50th anniversary of the end of the Yom Kippur War on October 25, 1973. The only reason I discovered this was because on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an unprovoked attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip – one day after the 50th anniversary of the start of the Yom Kippur War on October 6, 1973.

October 7 happened to be Shemini Atzeret (22 Tishrei, 5784) – the Eighth Day of Assembly in the Hebrew calendar – following the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles. Thus, this trip was now marked by three significant conflicts for the Jewish people:

1.     My visit to Jerusalem inspired on Shushan Purim – celebrating the victory over Haman;

2.     My arrival in Jerusalem on the 84th anniversary of the outbreak of World War Two in the Hebrew calendar;

3.     My visit to Auschwitz on the 50th anniversary of the end of the Yom Kippur War in 1973.

And now, potentially, another significant conflict may be brewing between Israel and Hamas.”

Baptism & The Number 777

(2 minute read) "One week later on January 4, just before midnight – day 777 since inspiring my July 14, 2022 visit to Auschwitz – I was about to make another interesting discovery. July 29, 1942: Eduard Schulte and Heinrich Himmler

Ten days later on June 5, I made another interesting discovery. While watching a documentary on the rise of the Nazis, it suddenly crossed my mind to check if anything significant happened at Auschwitz in 1942, given that the first visit on October 7 was the 19th chronological, and 42nd inspired visit to Auschwitz respectively. Putting those two numbers together, you get the number 1942. As it happens, 1942 was a significant year indeed. According to the official Auschwitz memorial website, 1942 was the year that mass gassing of Jews began at Auschwitz. More importantly, however, in this context, on July 29, 1942, prominent German industrialist Eduard Schulte leaked information to the Allies about the Nazis plan to exterminate all the Jews in Europe, known as the “Final Solution”. Schulte is considered one of the first people to inform the west about Germany’s plans for the Jews.
